I was born and raised it the Midwest, but eventually, after moving from place to place, I settled in Seattle. My travels in the United States took me through the many climates and terrains in our beautiful country, but when I saw the mountains, I knew it was there I belonged.  The first mountains I experienced were the Grand Tetons, and to this day they are still my favorite.  In 1987 I summated the Grand with by best life-long friend.  It was truly an extraordinary adventure.  Since then, I have been living in the Cascades, where I have had twenty years to explore this magnificent land.

In 2003, I was given a challenge I could have done without.  Doctors found I had breast cancer that required a number of surgeries and four months of chemo. Needless to say, that slowed me down a bit.  So, for something to keep me connected to nature, I started drawing.   My first silhouette was, appropriately, the Teton Range followed by the northwest mountains.  I found drawing took my mind off my medical issues and gave me peace.  Today, I am cancer free and I’m physically back with nature as much as possible.

I have to say, I found something positive in this experience, as it has given me a new perspective and I learned a new art.
